This 1974 Mercedes-Benz 450SL is a beautiful European-market example that was sold new in Germany and imported to the United States in 1983. It is finished in Tunis Beige Metallic over Tobacco MB-Tex and is powered by a 4.5-liter V8 paired with a three-speed automatic transmission. Equipment includes a body-color removable hardtop, a beige soft top, 14″ Bundt wheels, a power antenna, the original Becker AM/FM cassette stereo, and Zebrano wood trim. Work in preparation for the sale included a valve adjustment, replacement of the tires, and fluid changes. Recently acquired by the selling dealer, this R107 is now offered for sale in California with manufacturer’s literature, two keys, importation paperwork, service records, and a clean title.

The car has been restored and repainted in Tunis Beige Metallic, including a color-matched removable original hardtop. All the work was completed before its import from Germany to the US in 1983. The beige soft top was also replaced, including a power antenna and ribbed taillight lenses.

The 14″ forged alloy “Bundt” wheels wear 205/70 Uniroyal Tiger Paw tires that were mounted in April 2022. The car was factory-equipped with power steering and power-assisted four-wheel disc brakes. The tie rods and steering damper were replaced under current ownership.

The cabin features bucket seats upholstered in Tobacco MB-Tex, along with matching door panels and Zebrano wood veneer accents on the dashboard and center console. Amenities include a dual-zone heater, manual windows, and a Becker Mexico AM/FM cassette stereo.

The four-spoke steering wheel fronts VDO instrumentation, including a 160-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, and fuel level.

The 4.5-liter M117 V8 featured Bosch D-Jetronic fuel injection and was factory rated at 222 horsepower and 278 lb-ft of torque. The water pump and thermostat were replaced in 2021, as well as a fluid change and new radiator hoses. More recent work in April 2022 included a valve adjustment, refinishing the battery tray, and replacing the accessory belt, power steering fluid, and exhaust hangers.
